My Advent Wish #1

As I plan, work on, and print my photographic projects I make notes on what works, how it works, and how I’d like things to work (for me). This post is one of my 2025 Advent Wishlist Calendar. If you are a camera/lens/accessory manufacturer, feel free to implement those ideas.

Dear Santa,

I want a new full frame film camera.

Pentax, if you are listening, I want you to understand that while the Pentax 17 was a good first step, we need a full-frame 35mm film SLR. A K1000 revival would be awesome. Keep it simple, a mechanical shutter is fine, a simple light meter is fine. Do not put motors into it, the fewer electronic components the better.

Nikon, if you are listening, reviving Nikon FM10 would be awesome. I hope neither you nor Cosina have binned the blueprints. Bringing back FM2 or FM3a would be heavenly, but even bringing FM10 would be fantastic news. Do it. Please.

Fujifilm, if you are listening, stop trying to crash the film party. Your X half was a clear move on Pentax 17 and was completely unnecessary. I like you (I shoot GFX100S II and use Instax a lot), but that was not a classy move.
